Traditional Scandinavian Christmas Evening

This is the annual event to come to for those that crave their annual dose of Scandinavian Christmas tradition and snaps. The Association 2013 Christmas reception was held at the fabulous Volvo showroom in Greenlane on the 22nd Nov. Thanks to the significant efforts of VOLVO Cars and Archibald and Shorter, the event was a classy affair indeed.

Guests were treated to a red carpet welcome complete with balustrades and some lovely live music by the Auckland Chamber Orchestra quartet. Scandinavian Christmas delicacies and Danish snaps were enjoyed while Rita Jaegersborg, the lovely wife of the Danish Honorary Consul General Niels, captivated guests with fascinating insights into Denmark's unique and special Christmas traditions. These traditions are usually focused around kids and the family. Speak to any Danish adult and they will recall such childhood memories with great pride and joy.

A charity auction was held in support of Sir Ray Avery's Medicine Mondiale which raised over double our previous years take. These proceeds will be put to good use assisting Medicine Mondiale develop much needed cost effective medical solutions for people in third world countries.

Thank you to Volvo Cars, Archibald and Shorter, and Susanna Lewis who organised the reception. This calibre of Christmas reception wouldn't have been possible without your generosity and efforts.

Get along and test drive your new Volvo now. Discover that unique Volvo difference - a car that has been designed around the driver.
